Universal Paint Base and Primer

• Endless Possibilities – use as a stain blocking primer or color it for a full coverage furniture paint. You can use it in combination with any of our products to create your own white wash or color wash, satin or matte top coat. You can even make your own chalk paint by adding a little calcium carbonate!

• Become the Artist – simply brush it or spray it on and it will do the work. Universal Paint Base & Primer self-levels and never yellows, allowing you to be the master painter without a paint chemistry degree.

1. Environment: For best results, apply in an environment with a temperature between 68-75ºF.
2. Prep: Clean your surface before applying. You can use CrystaLac Surface Conditioner to ensure a proper surface for application. Scuff-sand the surface for best adhesion.
3. Application: Using a soft bristled brush, apply in thin, even coats. Let it self-level and dry. If spray-applying, it may be necessary to thin the product with CrystaLac Viscosity Reducer. This will extend dry time.
4. Recoat: Sand lightly with 400 grit sandpaper to smooth out any pigment particles. For best tannin blocking, allow 24 hours dry time for the first coat. Allow 2-4 hours dry time between each coat and top coats. When using on a tumbler, allow 4 hours dry time before recoating. If using CrystaLac Viscosity Reducer to spray-apply, dry time will be extended.
5. Cure Time: Since Universal Paint Base & Primer is a primer and base paint coat, you will need to use a top coat over your project. This product will cure along with the top coat, so please refer to the cure time of the CrystaLac top coat you’re using.

• Store at room temperature in a dry place, out of direct sunlight.
• Do not subject the product to freezing or hot temperatures.
• CrystaLac products have a shelf life of 5 years after opening.
• Use in an environment above 68ºF.

• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not allow children to use the product unsupervised.
• If using a spray application method, wear proper eye and respiratory protection.
