Waterborne Stains

Our stains are water based, come in 12 different colors, and may be brushed or sprayed. They are available in quart and gallon cans. CrystaLac stains are a combination of pigments, dyes and special additives to produce a wide range of wood enhancing tones. Our 12 different shades of stain may be intermixed or reduced with CrystaLac’s Clear Base Stain to create unlimited custom colors. It is recommended to use CrystaLac's Pre Stain Conditioner before staining your project. This conditioner penetrates the wood and prepares the surface so that an even stain color can be achieved.

Clear Coats

We carry a full line of clear coat finishes, whether it be a satin, semi-gloss, or gloss, you will find CrystaLac to be a top quality finish. Our clear coats have a diamond hard finish, are environmentally friendly, are safe on children's toys and furniture, non-yellowing, non-flammable, dry rapidly, and are not as temperature sensitive as other finishes can be, making them easy to use in most climates. Clean up is as near as your tap, soap and water is all it takes. Any of our clear coats may be applied over an existing finish that is free of oils and dirt. These are important characteristics for both the professional woodworker as well as the home hobbyist. CrystaLac finishes are available in ‘brushable’ or ‘sprayable’ formulations, and are sold in quart, gallon and five gallon amounts.

Premium

Our Premium Finish is a general-purpose furniture finish with a natural lacquer appearance. It boasts a light amber cast that will not yellow or crack with age. The Acrylothane™ resin system, with non-oxidizing lubricants offers exceptional flow-out and leveling properties producing a buffable finish superior to single component lacquer. Our Premium is self-sealing, low grain raising and dries quickly. This finish is available in a sprayable or brushable formulation.

Super Premium

Our Super Premium Finish is an exceptional resin blend that offers superb hardness, optical clarity and mar resistance. Super Premium is especially recommended for “top” surfaces, such as tables, pianos and musical instruments. Super Premium is extremely resistant to moisture and alcohol. Use on any surface that demands a hard, tough finish. Super Premium is highly resistant to scratches and the indentations of heavy objects over long periods of time. Super Premium is self-sealing, low grain raising and dries rapidly.

Polyurethane

Our polyurethane is the choice urethane for high wear areas, such as bar or counter tops. This product has no odor, is non-yellowing and dries rapidly. CrystaLac® Polyurethane is chemical and solvent resistant.

Polyoxide

Our floor finish. It is available in satin, semi-gloss and gloss. We have designed Polyoxide with the same characteristics as our clear coats. Water-based, means easy clean up. Non-flammable, non-yellowing, environmentally friendly, contains a UV protect ant and is fast drying.

Exterior Finish

This exterior finish is water clean up however it is not water based. This exceptional finish builds quickly, has highest UV protectant available, non-yellowing, has excellent adhesion properties, dries quickly and may be top coated within two hours, making multiple coats possible in one day.

Crab Coat

This is a true marine finish used in harsh marine environments. It has been tested and retested in both salt and fresh water and has proven itself superior every time. It contains the highest UV protectant available, making it ideal any marine application, both interior and exterior, above the water line. This finish may be sprayed or brushed. Crab Coat© is water clean up, although not water-based, making it a very unique product. It dries to a hard clear finish and is guaranteed not to yellow with age or exposure.

Color Coats

CrystaLac® color coats are available in white and black. These two products are formulated in satin, semi-gloss and gloss finishes. They may be purchased in quart, gallon and five gallon sizes. The high pigment content in this product will provide excellent hide and fill properties.

Finishing Polish

This finishing polish imparts a rich luster and deep grain appearance to any finish, giving a “hand rubbed” look to fine old world furniture.

Pre-Stain Conditioner

Pre-stain conditioner is a must when using any waterborne stain to achieve a uniform color on all woods.

Retarder

This additive is for our topcoats and is used to slow down the drying time of the products. It is best used in warm environments, high altitudes and/or low humidity (less that 20%). Retarder can be combined with Viscosity Reducer to achieve desired results. 

Sanding Sealer

CrystaLac’s Sanding Sealer is a conventional sealer with outstanding first coat sanding/filling qualities with minimum grain raising.

Spray Gun Cleaner

Our spray gun cleaner is safe to use, has a low odor, is biodegradable and is low flammable liquid. It has been designed to clean coating deposits from internal and external spray gun parts.

Surface Conditioner

If you are top coating, Surface Conditioner is a must to use before any finishing can be done. This product removes sanding dust, debris, oily fingerprints and other foreign matter such as furniture polishes or waxes. It also promotes inter-coat bonding over solvent-based finishes and prevents “fisheyes” caused by using steared sandpapers. Using Surface Conditioner, CrystaLac® coatings, (clear or color coats), may be applied over previously coated surfaces that have been finished with lacquer, urethane, shellacs, or varnishes.

Viscosity Reducer

This product is a special formulation designed to enhance the flow out and leveling properties of CrystaLac® coatings without altering product performance.

Warm Tone Dye

This dye is a highly concentrated additive that may be added to any clear coat to achieve a warm tone effect associated with conventional lacquer, urethane, shellac, and varnish. This product is a toner and not a penetrating stain color.

Wood Grain Filler

This is a non-toxic waterborne formula, which is a fast drying, easy sanding wood and pore filler for open grain woods such as oak, mahogany and walnut. Wood Grain Filler is an extremely easy product to apply and can be tinted with water or alcohol soluble dyes if necessary.

Wood Paste Filler

This product is minimum shrinkage paste filler that accepts water based stains uniformly.
